Tuesday/Thursday: Palermo – Erice – Marsala - Agrigento
Today you will meet your driver-escort and departure to tour western Sicily. Our first stop is Erice. . The Elymians settled the medieval town of Erice and was an important religious site associated with goddesses of fertility. Wander through its’ ancient streets and visit local pastry-shop to taste the typical marzipans and almond pastries. Then light-lunch at olive oil factory and tasting typical food and local olive oil. In the afternoon, we drive along saltpans and Sicilian windmills and tour the historic saltpan works, where the ancient tradition of harvesting salt from the sea is still practiced. Arrive in Marsala: visit a local winery’s cellar and taste Sicilian wines. Later continue the trip to Agrigento. Overnight in Agrigento

Wednesday/Friday: Agrigento - Piazza Armerina – Caltagirone – Ragusa
Visit Agrigento whose history dates back to 580 BC. On your own tour the Valley of the Temples, a magnificent cluster of Greek ruins overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Then, drive to Piazza Armerina across the vast countryside that enables us to see Sicily’s great variety of sceneries. See on your own the Roman Villa (3rd, 4rth century A.D.) at Casale with its 3.500 square metres of mosaic flooring giving an insight into the Roman way of living. Light-lunch in a country-restaurant. In the afternoon, we visit the baroque town of Caltagirone known as "the city of ceramics". Ceramics have been produced here for over 1000 years. Climb the Steps of Santa Maria del Monte, city's symbol made out of 142 steps decorated with splendid glazed majolica tiles. Continue the trip to Ragusa. Overnight in Ragusa

Thursday/Saturday: Ragusa - Modica - Taormina
VWalk in the old city centre of Ragusa Ibla, then short drive to Modica. a city full of fascinating architectural, artistic and scenic attractions, unique among those pertaining to the splendid Sicilian Baroque period. Take a stroll through the area and stop at the Antique Pastry Shop Bonajuto, where the Ruta family still make their famous chocolate based on on Aztec recipes! . Time at leisure. In the afternoon afternoon transfer to Taormina.
